My name is Maeve Kelley and I am a fifth year student at the University of Notre Dame. I am studying for a Bachelor of Architecture degree with a concentration in furniture design.

I grew up outside of Boston, Massachusetts and have also spent time living on Cape Cod. The oldest of four children in my family and with a sister with profound neurological disabilities, I was raised with a commitment to community and those around me as well as a special awareness for the special needs of different groups of people. My time living on Cape Cod has given me a special appreciation for how architecture relates to and integrates with nature. Seeing Boston as I grew up as well as having the opportunity to spend my junior year studying in Rome has afforded me an understanding of the importance of historic cities and how to continue innovating within them.

In architecture, I aim to create beautiful designs that are pleasant and intuitive spaces. I am the president of the Students for New Urbanism club at Notre Dame and have a passion for urban study and design.

Through my furniture design concentration, I have furthered my awareness of and admiration for fine craftwork. It has given me the opportunity to see my designs realized fully in 3-dimensions and has given me confidence and know-how in the construction aspects of projects.
